Alan Hampton, confirmed this week as Tamworth FC's new first team manager, talked of why he took the job his friend and colleague, Alan Fogarty lost.
He said: "I worked with Alan at Wealdstone and here at Tamworth, and we have built up a very close working relationship. It was tragic that Alan was not able to see fit to take a cut in wages and continue the work he has started. When the board asked me to take over I gave the matter a lot of thought before agreeing to do so. And the main reason I took the job was that so that there would be a continuity of management."
